COMsolve is seeking an experienced “RF Drive Tester” to join our engineering team, driving (mostly) around Calgary, Alberta (and occasionally in Manitoba), collecting the cellular signal to improve our customer’s network. COMsolve provides the testing vehicle as well as all the necessary telecom equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Driving the test vehicle with a team engineer to collect RF signals and record for further processing and analysis.

  • Assessing Quality of Experience (QoE) of 4G, and 5G mobile networks by measuring throughput, network coverage and bandwidth on the network.

  • Measuring coverage and quality of the cellular network signal, mobile network latency, voice/data services, user QoE and evaluate the performance KPIs using cellular drive test equipment.

  • Perform SSV tests for a site and includes Volte Calls, Ping Test, FTP file Uploads and Downloads.

  • Monitor real-time performance testing, ensuring data collected is accurate.

  • Upload collected data to FTP Server for RF Engineering team for troubleshooting and optimization.

  • Versed in MapInfo, MS Office Suite, Google Earth, Navigation


  • Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications

  • Solid understanding and interpretation of data collected and signaling

  • Work well under pressure

  • Clean driving record

  • Available to travel and test around Ontario when needed and occasionally stay overnight in hotels
